After coaching for a middle school baseball team in Forest Grove, Max Price was concerned about the lack of importance placed on player safety and the rampant belief that winning was more important than kids learning the fundamentals of the game. Because of that, for this project, he conducted dozens of interviews with athletes, coaches, and professional players, and he extensively researched best practices in youth sports to write a coaches’ manual for coaching youth baseball the right way. As a result of his publication, Max received two job offers for coaching positions, including the summer baseball head varsity coaching position at an extremely successful program in Oregon.
