Like most students, Perla had no idea what she should do to organize an activity. But, she had connections with friends and family who were native Spanish speakers. She decided to organize and teach an English class where folks could practice their English together. This was a great activity to organize during Covid because it could be held over Zoom! Quijuie worked on a project close to home, for 12 years he had lived in one of the most flooded parts of Liberia and had experienced the rainy season’s damaging effects. In order to prevent peoples’ homes from flooding during Liberia’s rainy season, he organized and raised money to have workers build a drainage system for community members in his hometown.
